SOLI INV-I-CTO COMITI / A / R S Sol, nude but for chlamys, standing front, but slightly turned to right, head to left, raising his right hand in salute and holding globe in his left. RIC 79 var. (unlisted officina). Extremely rare, apparently the second known example. The obverse a bit weak, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.

From the collection of Dr. L. Ramskold, formed since 1969.

Coins with Sol standing right are always very rare in the SOLI INVICTO COMITI coinage from Rome. RIC recorded a total of only 2-3 examples from this emission from officinae T and Q.
